Overview

An overview of the keyboard shortcuts for those that don't take the time to read the online manual, and thus are not aware that these shortcuts are real time savers:

3D Layout Keyboard Shortcuts

Player/Author Mode

   CTRL+SPACE - Play / Stop
   CTRL+BACKSPACE or Alt+BACKSPACE - Restore Initial Conditions
   ALT+SPACEBAR- Do One Step
   ALT+ENTER - Toggle windowed / Fullscreen mode in Player Mode


Object Selection

   CTRL+C - Copy selection
   CTRL+D - Clear selection
   CTRL+A - Select all
   CTRL+I - Invert selection
   SPACEBAR - Lock selection
   DELETE - Delete selection


Transformation Tools

   X - Move
   C - Rotate
   V - Toggle Scale (Normal/Volumetric/Uniform)
   S - Toggle Snap
   H - Toggle Hierarchy


Axis and Plane Constraints

   F5 - Switch to X constraint
   F6 - Switch to Y constraint
   F7 - Switch to Z constraint
   F8 - Toggle XY/YZ/XZ constraints
   F9 - Toggle anchor (selection center/object center/other object)


Reference and Screen Guide

   G - Toggle Reference Grid On/Off
   SHIFT+G - Toggle Screen Grid On/Off
   CTRL+G - Grid Setup



Creation Tools

   1 - Create a camera
   2 - Create a light
   3 - Create a curve
   4 - Create a 3D frame
   5 - Create a grid
   6 - Create a 2D frame
   7 - Create a Material 
   8 - Create a Texture 
   9 - Create a Portal



Navigation Tools

   Z - Camera zoom
   SHIFT+Z - Zoom on selection
   O - Toggle Orbit camera / Orbit target around camera
   P - Pan camera
   F - Change camera FOV
   D - Dolly camera
   N - Next Camera in scene
   SHIFT+N - Previous Camera in scene
   A - Switch to selection mode
   W - Zoom all
   Y - Flycam 
   Mouse Middle Button - Pan 
   holding down shift increases navigation speed (make sure the viewport is selected)
   Alt + Mouse Middle Button - Orbit 
   Mouse Wheel - Zoom

Level Manager Keyboard Shortcuts

NAVIGATION:

   UP,DOWN, PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, HOME, END - Scroll functions 
   RIGHT - Open hierarchy of selected item if available
   LEFT - Close hierarchy of selected item if hierarchy is opened, otherwise select parent item.


CREATION TOOLS

   P - Create a new Place and adds selected 3D Entities to the place.
   R - Create a new Array.
   C - Create a new Scene.
   W - Create a new Workset.
   S - Create a new Script on selected items.
   G - Creates a group and adds selected items to the group.


FIND

   F - Opens the Find dialog box 
   F3 - Find Next.
   Shift+F3- Find Previous. 
   Ctrl+F3 - Find Next that contains the string/text currently selected. 
   Ctrl+Shift+F3- Find Previous that contains the string/text currently selected.


SELECTION

   F2 - Renames entities. 
   DEL - Deletes selected entities. 
   SPACEBAR - Toggles selection lock in 3D view.
   V - Show selected 2D/3D entities.
   H - Hide selected 2D/3D entities.
   A - Activate selected entities in their context scene.
   D - Deactivate selected entities in their context scene.
   1 - Set Show/Hide Flags on selected items.
   2 - Remove Show/Hide Flags on selected items.
   + - Moves the entity up in the group order.
   - - Moves the entity down in the group order.
   RETURN or Middle button on a script - Show in Schematic.
   RETURN or Middle button on a entity - Show Setup. 
   CTRL+A - Selects all children of the selected item. 
   CTRL+C - Copies the selection to the clipboard. 
   CTRL+V - Pastes the clipboard content on the selection. 
   Alt+S- Saves the current selection to an object file.


Schematic Keyboard Shortcuts

NAVIGATION

   ARROW KEYS, PAGE UP, DOWN, HOME, END (when no script is selected) - Scroll functions
   PLUS, MINUS (+, -) - Zoom in, Zoom out (3 predefined levels)
   R - Zoom out and scroll to first page
   SHIFT+R - Refresh schematic
   SHIFT+Up/Down keys - If a script is selected, select previous / next script and scroll
   CTRL+Up/Down keys (when no script is selected) - Page scroll
   CTRL+Up/Down keys ( when a script is selected) - Move highlighted script
   Right/Left keys (when only scripts are selected) - Open/close selected scripts
   CTRL+B - Select/deselect highlighted script 
   SPACEBAR - Force mouse scroll (even if mouse is on a moveable item)


SELECTION

   CTRL+X - Cut selection to clipboard. Scripts cannot be cut.
   CTRL+C - Copy selection to clipboard
   CTRL+V - Paste from clipboard
   Fast Copy and Paste - There is another fast way to copy and paste a selection: press Shift before moving the selection by dragging it. 
   CTRL+SHIFT+V - Paste shortcut (only if output/local/shortcut parameters has been previously copied)
   DELETE - Delete selection
   SHIFT + DELETE - Delete behavior graph but keeps its content
   CTRL+click and drag mouse - Rectangle selection (selects everything that is strictly inside [schematic preference - strict multi-selection active] otherwise everything that intersects the drawn rectangle.)
   Hold SHIFT down to add items to current selection by clicking on them.
   Hold CONTROL down to invert selected state of clicked items.
   SHIFT+Move Selection - copy moved selection
   CONTROL+Move Selection - invert Search Best Path while Linking preference
   SHIFT+Q - Set Initial Conditions on selected scripts
   CTRL+Q - Remove Initial Conditions on selected scripts
   ALT+Q - Restore Initial Conditions on selected scripts
   SPACEBAR - Change display of selected local parameters - Open/close selected behavior graphsand scripts 
   F1 - Open building block help if building block is selected and doc is available
   F2 - Edit name or comment box. Return or click elsewhere to accept new name, press escape to cancel 
   F9 - Add/remove breakpoint
   Shift+F9 - Configure breakpoint
   E or RETURN - Edit selected item's Parameters (behavior, parameter operation, link)
   K- Opens CK Properties dialog to analyse the currently selected parameter input/output/local. 
   M - Modify selected Parameter Operation
   P - Update path of selected links and links connected to selected items. Switch between direct path (no control points) and best path
   S - Edit Settings of selected building block if available 
   Shift+S - Save selection 
   T - Add / remove Target Parameter to selected Building Blocks 
   V - Opens / shows Vsl Script Manager and edit selected Run Vsl building block script. 
   ALT+X - Execute selected scripts 
   Y - Edit selected behaviors priority

MODES

   G - Create graph mode 
   L - Create link mode
   A - Activate automatic link 
   Z - Deactivate automatic link
   ESC or right-click or L - End link mode if in link mode


BEHAVIOR BB/BG CONSTRUCTION

   C - Creates a comment (graph and script only) 
   I - Creates an input for selected
   O - Creates an output for selected
   ALT+I - Creates an Parameter Input for selected
   ALT+O - Creates an Parameter Output for selected
   ALT+L - Creates a local parameter for selected / in script
   ALT+T - Creates a This parameter for selected / in script



MOUSE SHORTCUTS

   Double-Click Link - Open Edit Link Delay dialog box
   Double-click Script Name - Open/close script
   Double-click Scrip Owner - Open Level Manager with owner selected
   Double-click Graph - Open/close graph
   Double-click Building Block- Edit building block parameters
   Double-click Input/Parameter Output - Edit that parameter only
   Double-click Local Parameter - Edit local parameter
   SHIFT+Right-Click - show menu with 10 most recently used building blocks
   Middle button - show menu with building block categories 
   Drag&Drop input/output or parameter input/output- link 
   Shift + Drag&Drop input/output or parameter input/output- export and/or move if moved object is a parameter that belong to a graph. 
   Alt + Drag&Drop input/output or parameter input/output- change connected link source/destination 
   Drag&Drop linked parameter local outside graph- export local parameter. Opposite operation is possible too.



MISCELLANEOUS

   H - Open Message - Sender and Receiver Retrieval dialog box
   ALT+S - Save selection as nms file
   CTRL+F - Find text, open find text dialog 
   F3 - Find text, next 
   Shift+F3 - Find text, previous 
   CTRL+Shift+F - Open Schematic Explorer
   ALT+P - Creates a parameter operation in script
   CTRL while linking - invert Search Best Path while Linking preference
